I’ve been reading a book of poetry, Susceptible To Light, by Chelan Harkin. Although I’ve enjoyed the entire book of poems, I especially loved a poem that suggested that one should

Point Yourself Toward Light

like flowers do.

The Flower

The flower
never had a to-do list,
not one day of her life.
She just pointed her whole self
toward light.
The rest
took care of itself.
— Chelan Harkin, Susceptible to Light

I think pointing yourself toward light is a little bit like choosing joy and choosing to seek out wonder and awe. At any rate it seems like a beautiful way to live one’s life.

Today I’m sharing wildflower photos from Carley State Park. I visited it on my short trip to southeastern Minnesota. Its claim to fame is its wonderful wildflower trail along the winding Whitewater River. The park is filled with bluebells as far as the eye can see and I was lucky enough to visit there at the right time to see all of them. What a sight!

What do you think? Are you ready to point yourself toward light?

May you walk in beauty.
