It’s hard to believe that it is the middle of January in Minneapolis! Rain has been falling all day. The dreary gray skies and falling rain remind me of the song

Rainy Days and Mondays

Talkin’ to myself and feelin’ old
Sometimes I’d like to quit
Nothin’ ever seems to fit
Hanging around
Nothin’ to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

This morning I planned our week’s menu and went grocery shopping. But this afternoon I’ve been feeling a little bit at loose ends. With the cold rain I’m not planning to walk. And I’ve been feeling a little blue with the gray skies and rain. So I challenged myself to find something beautiful through the windows of the house to counteract the rainy day/gray day mood I was in.

I found some little snippets of beauty but the day’s mood persists. I have no energy to tackle challenges with my photo book project so I think I’ll curl up with a good book. And I’ll feel grateful to be able to curl up in a comfortable chair in a warm house to read a book.

Gratitude, a purring cat in my lap, and a good book. Life is good. Even on a rainy Monday in January.

May you walk in beauty.

Just for fun – yesterday at French Regional Park
