Yesterday was the most amazingly beautiful day! In the early morning I spent time at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum photographing the tulips and wildflowers. Then I came home and edited the photos I had just made and did my weekly Soma Yoga class (live online). In the afternoon I re-connected with a longtime ago next-door neighbor who has become interested in pursuing photography. It was a beautiful day that reminded me that

Life is a Gift!

I love this short season of spring blossoms so much! Springtime feels like such a time of expansion and growth. Wildflowers are in bloom, red bud trees and crab apple trees are blossoming. And the annual tulip display at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum has burst into colorful bloom.

And as to me, I know nothing else but miracles

To me, every hour of the light and dark is a miracle,
Every inch of space is a miracle,
Every square yard of the surface of the earth is spread with the same,
Every cubic foot of the interior swarms with the same;
Every spear of grass—the frames, limbs, organs, of men and women, and all that concerns them,
All these to me are unspeakably perfect miracles.
To me the sea is a continual miracle;
The fishes that swim—the rocks—the motion of the waves—the ships, with men in them,
What stranger miracles are there?

Along with the Baltimore Orioles I saw near my bird feeders earlier this week, this morning I had two visitations from a rose breasted grosbeak, countless goldfinches, several house finches, and a downy woodpecker.

Wildflowers, birds, ducklings, tulips, turtles and more — what a gift! The world is greening and everything is beginning to look fresh and new. Our lawn is growing so fast and is so vividly green it almost glows.

I believe a leaf of grass is no less than the journey-work of the stars.

And the new leaves on the trees also seem to have an internal glow. Today I’m sharing a bunch of photos that I made at the Landscape Arboretum yesterday, more than usual but it feels like it’s the time of year for an excess of beauty. I hope you also discover that your life is a gift too my friends.

Enjoy!

May you walk in beauty.
