Yesterday morning, when I woke up, I decided to see if I could get a ticket to enter the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. They are now allowing walking in one direction only through some of their gardens. I reserved my ticket, dressed quickly, grabbed my camera and headed out.

Hot, Humid and Mosquito-y

Even though it was still morning, walking in the heat and humidity with a mask on was oppressive. There were times when I felt like I could not get enough breath through the mask I wore. But the beauty made it worth the effort. I’ve never been very bothered by mosquitoes at the Arboretum—until yesterday, that is. In a very short time I acquired at least a half dozen bites on my arms, face, and hands.

Let the beauty we love be what we do. There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.

The glorious beauty of it all was worth the effort. My favorite spot yesterday was the waterfall. It was fun hand-holding my camera and slowing down the shutter, trying to be still enough to get a good shot.

Another Steamy Day

Today promises to be another steamy day. But when I was out on the deck swing early this morning drinking my morning cup of tea, the breeze in the shade felt mighty fine. As I swung I  focused on storing up all the sensations of the breeze, the swing, the soft air, and the green all around me. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to pull these memories out on a cold winter’s day and bask in their warmth?

Have a beautiful day.

May you walk in beauty.
