So I saw a tree yesterday on my hike that looked like it had lips. I couldn’t resist photographing it and then adding eyes and a nose. Those are my eyes and my nose in that silly tree image. It’s not something that I will ever print or share as serious work. But I had fun playing around.

We all need some

Saturday Silliness

in our lives these days. And some kindness.

I don’t have a lot to say today. Earlier this week we took our bikes in for tune-ups and the shop called late yesterday to say that they are ready for us to pick them up. I am so excited. Because of the hip replacement last summer and a lot of hip pain the summer before, it’s been at least a couple of years since I’ve ridden my bike. I’m looking forward to spring bike rides to see everything in bloom.

Yesterday we took a hike at Big Willow Park. I only took my phone along so I’m sharing phone photos today. Someone has been brightening everyone’s hikes at Big Willow by leaving little painted rocks and other offerings tucked into interesting spots in the landscape. It was fun seeing which of us spotted them first.

Earth and sky, woods and fields,
lakes and rivers, the mountain and the
sea,
Are excellent schoolmasters, and teach
some
Of us more than we can ever learn
from books.

Enjoy your Saturday friends. And indulge in a little Saturday silliness if you feel like it.

May you walk in beauty.
