I’ve run out of words today. Everything is

Just so

Tired of this isolation already and I fear it has hardly begun. Still we are okay. We have plenty to eat, a comfortable home, lots to read, access to technology and phone connections with friends and family.

I am using all of my calming and presencing skills, creating daily, and getting outside for walks as often as I can. Still, I’m finding it challenging to not become overwhelmed and frightened. My inner child wants to stomp her foot and have everything return to “normal.” My adult self would like to do more to help out but given that I’m in a higher risk group, staying home is probably the most helpful thing I can do.

So…

Just so – minute by minute, day by day.

Here’s a poem by Hafiz that lifted my spirits today.

Buttering the Sky

Slipping

On my shoes,

Boiling water,

Toasting bread,

Buttering the sky:

That should be enough contact

With God in one day

To make anyone

Crazy.

— Hafiz

Yesterday I made the watercolor painting below. And then today I modified a photo of it in Adobe Photoshop using flower photographs I made previously.
