Quote of the day: Sanctuary, on a personal level, is where we perform the job of taking care of our soul.” — Christopher Forrest McDowell

Backyard Sanctuary

My Backyard Sanctuary

These gentle days of early spring when the grass is turning green, trees are not yet leafed out fully, and breezes are soft and gentle are wonderful. I spent some time outdoors last week, trimming bushes and dead plant leaves. Afterwards I headed to the big old basswood tree trunk in our back yard to soak in all the sounds, scents, and sights of spring.

Ducks swam in the pond, birds sang and flitted from branch to branch, turtles basked, breezes blew, clouds drifted in the sky, tiny flowers bloomed in the weeds at my feet. Ahhhhhh….

Tiny flowers blooming in tiny green weeds

Breathe in beauty. Breathe out gratitude. Breathe in beauty. Breathe out gratitude.
