Wild Violets in bloom in Central Iowa

Today I’m counting my blessings of the week, which were many. I started the week in a funk (again!) and with the help of friends and meditation and lots of time outdoors I am feeling totally blessed, perfectly supported by the Source, and full of gratitude for my life.

Linking up with Liv Lane’s Little Bliss List again today—thanks again Liv for inspiring counting my blessings regularly.

Here’s my bliss list for the week:

Red bud tree in bloom in Ames, Iowa

  • We traveled to the Kansas City area for a visit with our daughter, son-in-law, and 2 grandkids. As we headed south it was like traveling ahead in time, as we drove through 3 distinct stages of spring. When we left the Twin Cities, the leaves were budding and plants and flowers getting ready to bloom. In central Iowa, all of the fruit trees and red bud trees, violets, tulips and daffodils were in full bloom! Gorgeous!  By the time we got to KC, the leaves were almost fully out and the fruit trees mostly done blooming and the weather felt like summer with temperatures in the mid-eighties. Coming back home, we got to do it all again in reverse

Almost looked like full summer in Kansas City area

  • Playing with grandchildren was wonderful (and exhausting). At ages 3 and 5, they are full of fun and lots of pretend games!

  • Spring, spring, spring! I’ve spent a lot of time in the woods photographing wildflowers and they are gorgeous

  • The orchid show at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum is beautiful!

Beautiful flowers, and I love the idea of travelling through the seasons as you travel along the troad. So beautiful! Em 🙂

Thank you. It was a lovely type of time travel. And now I get to experience spring more slowly here in Minnesota.

Beauties – all of those flowers. The fern reminded me of the fiddlehead fern that grew in Alaska which was a tasty treat when fixed by a local who knew how to cook it right.

Thanks. I’ve never had fiddlehead fern – I wonder what it tastes like?

Your photos are gorgeous and your bliss list just beautiful. I am especially drawn to the fern photo – you’ve captured it’s birth and it is just beautiful!

Thank you so much. I love ferns, especially when they’re brand new.

Stunning photos! Yes, those little ones are exhausting when you’re not used to it (I know we sure aren’t!). I hope you had a wonderful Easter with your family and that this week is just as blissful!
