Quote of the day:  “Help us to be ever faithful gardeners of the spirit, who know that without darkness nothing comes to birth, and without light nothing flowers.”  ~ May Sarton

Hydrangea Flower

In our search for meaning in life, it’s easy to overlook the simple joys of laughter, loving, sharing, giving.  I have created a gratitude bowl with little slips of paper listing ordinary things I am grateful for.  Each day I draw one of the slips of paper and place it face up in the bowl.  Each time I pass the bowl, I remember to be grateful.

Cultivating gratitude and joy is like cultivating a garden.  You work at it a little bit each day.  And one day, when you least expect it you are living in gratitude and joy all the time.
