The Road Less Traveled

This time of year especially (but actually most of the time) I like to take back roads where I am going instead of driving on the freeways. It takes a little bit longer but the beauty and calm are worth it for me. This morning as I drove to an appointment in Excelsior I followed favorite back roads soaking in magnificent colors almost all the way there and back home again. I am so fortunate to have the time to take The Road Less Traveled As I watch the people I know returning to their pre-pandemic social lives I feel Read more…

Color Full

Everywhere I look this week my eyes feel Color Full All of the fall colors are popping and it’s glorious to simply wander around gazing at all of the color. Becoming a photographer and looking at the world through the eyes of a photographer has helped me to notice these special moments more and more. The photo above is of an old white wooden chair that came from my grandmother’s house. I got it when I moved into my Read more…

A Feast for the Eyes

It seems that everywhere I look I see vivid colors across the landscape — reds, oranges, bright yellows, and still many shades of green. It’s a Feast for the Eyes! I believe that the seasonal changes that we have here in Minnesota, along with the many trees in our landscape, are food for my soul. If everything was the same each day I think I would get a bored, even if the colors were like they are right now. But the movement from bare trees and snow covered ground in winter to the land waking up and beginning to bud Read more…
