Looking Deeper

This morning I spent some time Looking Deeper into images I made earlier this week. They were the ones that didn’t catch my eye or didn’t seem as “good” as the ones I chose to work on initially. And interestingly I found several that intrigued me enough to give them a second look. For example I remember being very interested in the willow tree shown above when I photographed it at the edge of the lagoon near Medicine Lake. A Work in Progress

Those of you who know me well, have heard the saga of our seemingly never-ending basement remodel. It began over three years ago and though it is not yet done, I can see the light at the end of the remodeling tunnel. Next week our new carpet will be installed. Afterwards,I am looking forward to sitting in front of the fireplace and feeling cozy and warm this winter. We are expecting a high temperature of almost 70 degrees today. The sky is a cloudless bright blue right now. And I am giving thanks for another beautiful day during a time of year that is often not nearly so pleasant. November is typically the cloudiest month of the year in Minnesota with an average of 5 clear days during the month. I am hoping Read more…

Exploring Creative Options

I’m continuing my work on my book idea. This week I’ve been Exploring Creative Options in photo paper for my handmade book. All of the paper samples that I ordered arrived late last week. So this week I’ve been slowly printing two of the photos for the book on all of the different paper types that I’m interested in. Now I’m spending time looking at them all and choosing which paper or papers I like the best. Last weekend I spent some time at the library looking at photo books published by various photographers that I admire. Though those books Read more…
