Friday Gratitude and Bliss List

Quote of the day: “The big question is whether you are going to be able to say a hearty yes to your adventure.” —Joseph Campbell Today I am celebrating with special gratitude and bliss. A year ago yesterday, I was laid off from my 25+ years as a software engineer. And this week I am celebrating—yes celebrating—the gift that the layoff was! Even though, my ego took a bruising, (who me? laid off? you’ve got to be kidding!) being laid off was the best thing that has happened in a long time. When was the last time you had an Adventure?

Quote of the day: “Art flourishes where there is a sense of adventure.” —Alfred North Whitehead A few weeks ago I decided to plan one day a week to go out photographing at some new place. What do you think?

If it was any longer I might stop seeing miracles everywhere I look. How about you? Where are you seeing miracles today?

Dance in the light, dance in the darkness

Quote of the day: “I measure the spiritual health of my family by how much dancing is happening in our kitchen.” —Brené Brown Dancing is one of the best things I do for myself. When I need to get up and move, there’s nothing better than putting on some music and dancing with it. I like to think of my life as a dance—sometimes slow and easy, sometimes fast and frenetic—always changing. When I’m sad it helps to move the sadness by moving my body. When I’m happy it helps to express my joy by dancing. Whether you really get up Read more…
