This beautiful cardinal perched in the little hydrangea tree outside my office window for the longest time this morning! What a beautiful way to start the week. I keep my long lens handy and was able to grab my camera, switch to my 100-400 mm lens with 1.4 extender and make lots of shots of this lovely male cardinal through the window. In fact I held the heavy camera and lens so long that my arms were shaking by the time I put it down.

A Cardinal Morning

Here is some advice from a cardinal for you today:

  • Stand out in a crowd
  • Go out on a limb
  • Be a bright spot in others’ lives
  • Add color to your life
  • It’s okay to be flashy

As you can see I didn’t have a lot to say today. I just wanted to share these bright beautiful cardinal photos with you, hoping that they would brighten your day, my friends.

Let the world
have its way with you,
luminous as it is with mystery
and pain—
graced as it is
with the ordinary.

Have a lovely day.

May you walk in beauty.
