This tiny frog has been hanging out in the watering tube of one of my Earth Box garden boxes. Every day when I go out to check to see if I need to water, I peek into the tube and see if he (or she) is still there.

I finally decided to take out my camera and make a photograph of him. So here he is saying

Hello World, Hello Monday

We had a lovely get-together with our oldest daughter and her family yesterday. Our youngest daughter wasn’t with us since she had been with a small group of friends the day before. This is COVID-time—a time of figuring out who is in our “safe” bubble and for how long. Next weekend our son-in-law is traveling to southern Iowa to help his Dad. So for a couple of weeks after that our oldest daughter’s family will not be in our bubble.

We had such a fun day together, eating, playing games, laughing and teasing one another. Jon asked me to make a photo of us all (even Gracie, our cat, got into the photo) that he plans to email to his uncle, who is now in a nursing home.

This morning I went to French Regional Park to take a walk and make a few photographs of the prairie meadow there. Many of the flowers were past their prime but I enjoyed wandering around anyway. There were a lot of bees, damselflies, and goldfinches flitting around the meadow. And as I walked I remembered that last summer one of the first walks I took without a walker or cane (after hip replacement) was by this meadow. What a difference a year can make!

Just before I left the park I noticed a couple of young women having a blanket picnic nearby so I walked over and asked if I could photograph them.  It felt like such a sign of the times to see two friends having a socially distanced picnic together at the park.

“My words for all of you who need to feel motivated. Let this year – 2020 – be a learning curve in our life’s trajectory. A year in which we reset the priorities of our life. Our health, family, and personal care should always take the topmost position among our priorities. We must practice equality in thought, word, and action without being biased towards any community, religion, or skin color. We must follow our principles in life and stay committed to them. Our lives must be a testament to continuous learning. And we must take utmost care of this planet – our mother earth if we want future generations to stay here.
These words are especially meant for all students in the world.”

I hope that you have a lovely week friends.

May you walk in beauty.
