On a summer day in late June on a hike in the woods, almost everything is green. So today I decided to create monochrome photos of my journey on the path less traveled that I walked at French Regional Park. I started out on my usual path that goes down towards the lake, but I could see that there were a lot of people out and about. So as I came to the first bridge on the path, I headed off on a lesser used path that went along the marsh and into the woods instead of down to the lake.

On a Summer Day

I met only two people on the path at a point where another side path zigged off towards the marsh. So I explored the side path while I let the hikers pass by, safely distant, in this time of social distancing.

It always surprises me to see what captures my eye as a hike along with my camera. There were few flowers on this woodland path but so much beauty.

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
