On a summer day in late June on a hike in the woods, almost everything is green. So today I decided to create monochrome photos of my journey on the path less traveled that I walked at French Regional Park. I started out on my usual path that goes down towards the lake, but I could see that there were a lot of people out and about. So as I came to the first bridge on the path, I headed off on a lesser used path that went along the marsh and into the woods instead of down to the lake.
On a Summer Day
I met only two people on the path at a point where another side path zigged off towards the marsh. So I explored the side path while I let the hikers pass by, safely distant, in this time of social distancing.
It always surprises me to see what captures my eye as a hike along with my camera. There were few flowers on this woodland path but so much beauty.
The Road Not Taken
By Robert FrostTwo roads diverged in a yellow wood,And sorry I could not travel bothAnd be one traveler, long I stoodAnd looked down one as far as I couldTo where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair,And having perhaps the better claim,Because it was grassy and wanted wear;Though as for that the passing thereHad worn them really about the same,And both that morning equally layIn leaves no step had trodden black.Oh, I kept the first for another day!Yet knowing how way leads on to way,I doubted if I should ever come back.I shall be telling this with a sighSomewhere ages and ages hence:Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—I took the one less traveled by,And that has made all the difference.
May you walk in beauty.
