Same but different. Each tiny flower is unique just as every human is unique. Let us celebrate our diversity and extend ourselves in a circle of love, caring for one another and being kind to one another.

This morning I’m thinking about

Everyday Grace

like the big orange feet of this mallard duck standing on the log this morning. I loved the way the morning light made his feet almost glow.

And as I sat and meditated this morning a sparrow hopped around on the evergreen tree’s branches outside the window. My cat Gracie sat in my lap mesmerized by the tiny bird’s movements.

These moments are everyday grace.

Yesterday I lazed on the deck swing, reading, dreaming, and soaking up the amazing beauty all around me. Then I went for a bike ride around the neighborhood admiring all of the tulips in bloom. What a joy it is gliding along on my two-wheeled locomotor.

I hung my hummingbird feeder outside of the kitchen window last week. I haven’t yet seen a hummer at the feeder, but the food level goes down every day and I’ve already had to refill it once. So I’m trusting that the hummingbirds are back even if I haven’t seen them.

I’m making homemade veggie beef soup today so the house is already filled with good smells.

I stand here barefoot in my kitchen

Breathing deeply

And I give thanks for everyday grace.

What are you thankful for today?

If you are struggling today I send you this blessing.

On the day when the weight deadens on your shoulders and you stumble, may the clay dance to balance you. And when your eyes freeze behind the gray window and the ghost of loss gets in to you, may a flock of colors, indigo, red, green and azure blue come to awaken in you a meadow of delight. When the canvas frays in the curach of thought and a stain of ocean blackens beneath you, may there come across the waters a path of yellow moonlight to bring you safely home. May the nourishment of the earth be yours, may the clarity of light be yours, may the fluency of the ocean be yours, may the protection of the ancestors be yours. And so may a slow wind work these words of love around you, an invisible cloak to mind your life.”
John O’Donohue, Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom

May you walk in beauty.
