This morning I woke to an all-white landscape as snow fell and flew horizontally in strong winds. A few flakes still fall but visibility is much improved from early this morning.
This afternoon I went outside to clear part of the sidewalk and fill the bird feeder. I am very grateful that I don’t need to go anywhere today. Underneath the snow is a coating of ice from the rain that fell before the temperatures dropped during the night. Fortunately the snow on top kept the ice from becoming too slippery. I wonder what the roads are like.
The newly fallen snow made the birds much more interested in the bird feeder and sunflower seeds on the ground outside the living room window today, so I camped out in a chair beside the window with my camera for an hour or more this morning.
I was rewarded with visitations from chickadees and a pretty downy woodpecker. What wonderful gifts from nature I received.
May you walk in beauty.

Wonderful photos. Have you ever been on the Cornell Birding Lab website. They encourage people to submit bird photos to their archive.
