This morning I spent an hour wandering around the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum noticing how the first signs of fall are definitely visible.
With all the rain we had in August some of the hiking paths are muddy and messy. The crab apple trees have more apples on them than I’ve ever seen.
“Autumn seemed to arrive suddenly that year. The morning of the first of September was crisp and golden as an apple.”
― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
But even with all the rain, many of the summer perennial flowers are no longer in bloom. Their season has passed and a new season is arriving.
Signs of the Season
Because I’ve had a sore back for a couple of days I intentionally left my tripod home today and set my intention to simply enjoy my time in nature and play around with creative depth of field, camera movement, and other techniques to create photographs that remind me of impressionist paintings.
I wanted to capture some artistic images of the signs of the season.
It was such fun playing with light and movement.
Here are some of the photos I made.
May you walk in beauty.

Lovely photos, They inspire me want to make a little fabric art piece (or pieces). I especially love the yellow flower with the one curled petal.

I loved that one curled petal at well. Glad to provide some inspiration for new art.

Stunning and yes fall is definitely upon us in IL. Cool days are here after a very hot and humid summer… What shall winter bring us…

I refuse to think about winter yet… 🙂
