Quote of the day:
Everything
 just as it is,
as it is,
as is.
Flowers in bloom.
Nothing to add.

~Robert Aitken, Roshi, As it Is

Purple Coneflowers at MN Landscape Arboretum

Every time I make photographs of flowers I ask myself whether I’m creating something new or just doing “the same old thing.” Monday I photographed flowers in the early morning sun at the MN Landscape Arboretum. I was disappointed with the photos I was taking. It felt like nothing special, nothing new. Today, I look at them and realize that the beauty of flowers is enough. Nothing special, nothing new, perfect none-the-less.

How often do you fail to see the miracle of ordinary things in your life?

These are very pretty and I certainly wouldn’t say they weren’t anything special. The Coneflower is lovely but I adore the Yellow Flowers which are probably a type of coneflower as well. That photo is just delightful.

Fantastic shots Marilyn! I can’t seem to capture my coneflowers the way everyone else does. Just lovely.
