Quote of the day: “The creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect but by the play instinct acting from inner necessity. The creative mind plays with the objects it loves.” —Carl Jung

Yesterday I had some fun playing around with textures. I used Kim Klassen textures. I’ve created a trio of Gerbera Daisy photos with added textures.

Original Photo

The steps I used to create this photo are:

  1. Duplicate background layer with blend mode of Soft Light at 100%
  2. Add a layer of kk_and ThenSome (one of my favorite Kim Klassen textures) with blend mode of Soft Light at 100%
  3. Add a layer of kk_ohMy with blend mode of Multiply at 62%
  4. Add text using My Underwood font

The steps I used to create this photo are:

  2. Add a layer of kk_ohMy with blend mode of Soft Light at 54%
  3. Duplicate kk_ohMy layer and switch blend mode to Multiply at 46%
  4. Add a layer of kk_shine  with blend mode of Soft Light at 54%
  5. Duplicate kk_shine layer and switch blend mode to Multiply at 17%

So pretty. Love the color of this Gerbera Daisy. My favorite is the shot with the group of Daisies. Lovely use of the textures.
