Quote of the day: “I love skating so much and I feel like every time I step out onto the ice, that’s what I’m meant to do.” ~Clara Hughes

Lonely Pond Waiting for Skaters

Winter blew in, in full force yesterday.  After all of the mild weather we have been having, I am feeling happy to welcome a cold snap.  (I hope these aren’t famous last words – if the weather gets awful in the Minneapolis area for the rest of winter, you can blame me.)

Our neighbor cleared off the ice on the pond behind our homes with the hopes of ice skating with his two young daughters.  But our recent warm weather made it unsafe to skate on the pond.  With the return of the cold, I’m hoping to see some ice skaters out my bedroom window soon.  With the lovely light that our neighbor installed, I’m  also looking forward to photographing some evening ice skating.  Isn’t it a pretty little skating rink?
