Great Gratitude

Quote of the day: “Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.” ― Eckhart Tolle, A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose It’s been an abundant week for me, full of good food, good company, and good photography opportunities. Here is my bliss and joy list for the week. I’m loving the farmer’s markets all around the Twin Cities. If you look, you can find a market almost any day of the week. And I would be the light, flinging over the island, covering it with flash and shadow, shining on rocks and pools, softening to a touch in the glow of dusk. If I were the rain and wind and light, I would encircle Read more…

Gifts of Beauty

Quote of the day: “Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams.” — Ashley Smith Sometimes I discover little gifts of unexpected beauty and I’m lucky enough to have my camera close at hand. Here are some photos of unexpected gifts of beauty to enjoy today. Last night I attended a meditation session at Tergar International. It was wonderful to receive meditation instruction and meditate in a group again. Driving home after meditating, Read more…

Afraid of being uncomfortable?

Quote of the day: “You were given life; it is your duty (and also your entitlement as a human being) to find something beautiful within life, no matter how slight.” ― Elizabeth Gilbert I have often said that since I became a photographer I see beauty everywhere I go. Lately I’ve been thinking about whether that is true. It is true that I prefer nature and flowers to concrete and metal. I almost always photograph the things I love like nature and flowers and people. I rarely seek out places I don’t like to photograph. My photographic challenge this week from Doug Read more…
