I love

Open Window Days

with the breeze blowing through the house. Today is one of those days for us here in Minnesota. I can’t tell you how grateful I am to live here surrounded by green growing things. It is such a blessing.

Set wide the window. Let me drink the day.”
Edith Wharton, Artemis to Actaeon and Other Verses

This morning I took an early walk through the neighborhood, marveling at the puffy white clouds scattered in the sky. I basked in the cool breeze and low humidity.

During times like these I want to focus all of my senses to soak up all of the ways that the day brings beauty to me. Sight, sound, scent, touch—the only sense I didn’t use was taste.

How about a little bit of Hafiz today, my friends? I came upon this poem yesterday and loved it.

With That Moon Language

Admit something: Everyone you see, you say to
them, “Love me.”

Of course you do not do this out loud, otherwise
someone would call the cops.

Still, though, think about this, this great pull in us
to connect.

Why not become the one who lives with a full
moon in each eye that is always saying,

with that sweet moon language, what every other
eye in this world is dying to hear?

Camera Tales

My new camera arrived today! And I can’t wait to try it out. I’m waiting for the battery to finish charging and then I expect that I will be photographing everything I can think of to see how I like it. I’m guessing that there will be a fairly steep learning curve since I’m changing from a Canon DSLR to an Olympus mirror-less camera. The sensor size in my new camera is much smaller.

But I needed to make a change. My Canon camera was starting to misbehave at times and my wrists can no longer take carrying it around. It’s just too heavy. Wish me luck!

May you walk in beauty
