This morning as I looked out the windows at the pond I could see raindrops on the window pane. Looking at the raindrops and the landscape beyond I realized that how we see life is often
A Matter of Focus
If I focus on the raindrops instead of the pond and trees I see the world one way. Though the raindrops are in focus, everything beyond the window is soft and dreamy looking.
But if I ignore the raindrops and focus on the trees I see the world in an entirely different manner.
Making photographs can be a way of having a conversation with nature — and so with ourselves.— John Paul Caponigro
Today is one of those days that differs depending upon what you focus on. I was amazed at the warm temperature outside today. Once the rain stopped it felt balmy and humid, almost summer-like. And though the winds picked up and it is sprinkling outside again, I’m still holding that summer-like feeling in my heart.
Rannunculus Love
I found a rannunculus plant at the grocery store this morning. Since February I’ve been looking for a bouquet of rannunculus flowers but haven’t seen them anywhere. Finally Bachman’s is putting a few small plants out in their displays in the local stores. Though I would have preferred a bouquet and a different color, the papery layers and layers of petals captivate me.
I shall be spending a lot of time photographing the two full flowers on this small plant in the next few days.
And I’ll share another poem by Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer today…
BecomingTo wake and not wantto change anything. To let the heart feelwhat it feels. To be disarmed, defenselessand so alive. There are dayslove claims usso utterlywe unfoldinto the moment, whatever it holds, certain we were made for it.Nothing has prepared usfor this.Everythinghas prepared usfor this.— Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer from https://ahundredfallingveils.com/page/6/
Have a beautiful weekend my friends. And remember, it’s all a matter of focus.
May you walk in beauty.
