It’s a gray day outside today with rain, snow, and ice predicted for this afternoon and tonight. I like to think of it as the month of March…

Marching On

You never know what kind of weather March will bring. I always hope for mild days, snow melt, and signs of spring in March. But here in Minnesota, we don’t get that kind of March often. And so far it’s not showing signs of an early spring for us this year.

So I made the photo at the top of this post this morning to express the kind of day we are having. Still I plan to go outside for a walk before it starts raining again in the mid-afternoon.

What do you do on rainy gray days in March?

LET IT GO
Let go of the ways you thought life
would unfold; the holding of plans
or dreams or expectations – Let it
all go. Save your strength to swim
with the tide. The choice to fight
what is here before you now will
only result in struggle, fear, and
desperate attempts to flee from the
very energy you long for. Let go.
Let it all go and flow with the grace
that washes through your days whether
you receive it gently or with all your
quills raised to defend against invaders.
Take this on faith; the mind may never
find the explanations that it seeks, but
you will move forward nonetheless.
Let go, and the wave’s crest will carry
you to unknown shores, beyond your
wildest dreams or destinations. Let it
all go and find the place of rest and
peace, and certain transformation.

Can I let go of what I wish March would be like and embrace what is? Today my goal is to embrace order, flow, harmony, and grace however they show up in my life.

Wishing you a beautiful day, even if the sky is gray.

May you walk in beauty.
