Ahhhh…warmer sunshine.

At Last!

Along with the unseasonably cold weather this past week I’ve been dealing with some chronic health issues that combined to make it a miserable week. But I think I am beginning to see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel — at last! Though I am not feeling entirely better, I’m well enough to go out for short walks and to enjoy the warmer sunshine.

Yesterday was the first time I felt well enough to leave the house in awhile and it felt so good to be outside for a short while and to wander through a furniture store to look for a chair replacement for our living room.

Simple things can bring great joy when you pay attention.

“A morning-glory at my window satisfies me more than the metaphysics of books.”
Walt Whitman

We forget sometimes about the pleasures of simple things. I haven’t used my camera all week (which tells you more about how I’ve been feeling than anything else). But I am looking forward to taking a walk with it soon.

“The simplest things are overlooked. And yet, it is the simplest things that are the most essential.”
Thomas Lloyd Qualls, Painted Oxen

As the weather forecast predicts a warmer week ahead I have high hopes of many walks in the woods in coming days. And I look forward to springtime soon.

“And we will lie down on the ground and have conversations with the grasses and the flowers.”
Avijeet Das

What are your plans for this lovely day and the week to come? Are you also saying, “At last”?

May you walk in beauty.
