Yesterday after writing about loving the light at daybreak and sunset, I saw a

Spectacular Sunset

As I looked out the window at about 4:30 pm, this is what I saw. I went and grabbed my camera to photograph it. Because the light changes so rapidly, I left my 100-400 mm lens on with the 1.4 extender. And I zoomed in to frame just the tops of the trees against the reddish purple-y sky.

The deep reds and purples lasted only for seconds before the light shifted. After making a few long shots, I switched to my 24-105 mm lens and made few more shots. It was astonishing how rapidly the light changed.

The photos in this post are in the order that I made them so that you can see how it shifted.

Isn’t the world amazing and wondrous? Living on this earth is truly a gift.

Sometimes I need only stand wherever I am to be blessed.
