I have been taking walks almost every day in the neighborhood. Today I invite you to

Take a Walk

with me.

As I head out the front door I walk kitty-corner across the street to a path that leads down a steep hill to a park and pond where I often find a lot of ducks and geese. Today the reflections of the trees in the pond catch my eye (photo above which I inverted). I find that the inverted photograph tricks my eyes a bit and I’m not sure whether it’s a really blurry picture of trees and sky or a photograph of reflected trees.

As I continue to walk I see a pair of geese at the edge of the pond. One of them watches me closely as I walk by.

There is a low area near the path where water has collected. A pair of mallards “swim” in it and search for something good to eat.

The reflections of the trees in water beside the path catch my eye and I see a biker approaching on the path. What a beautiful day!

Later on I walk down a part of the trail I haven’t visited recently and find a bit of whimsy beside the little stream that runs along the side of the path. Someone has built a “fishing dock” for their gnome! I vow to come back with my “big girl” camera when the light is better to photograph this scene. I loved that the pair of mallards were not at all bothered by my presence. In fact, they hardly looked up at me as I paused to make photos of the scene with my phone camera.

If you look closely at the top of the photo above you can see that there is also a gnome house in the shade of an evergreen tree (see closeup below).

Isn’t it fun to see a bit of whimsy in someone’s back yard? When was the last time you took a walk? Maybe today would be a good day for a walk in your neighborhood.

May you walk in beauty.
