The sun caught this amaryllis petal just so yesterday afternoon. And it looked like it was glowing. So I picked up my camera and shot this image hand-held just before I left to buy groceries. It was a simple action but filled with joy.
Full of Joy
Look, hasn’t my body already felt like the body of a flower?
Watching these amaryllis flowers from bud to bloom to dissolution is good practice for accepting the cycles of my life.
We shake with joy, we shake with grief.
What a time they have, these two
housed as they are in the same body.
Yesterday’s DailyGood post, “Gazing Into the Heart of Perfection,” made me smile. I thought you might also enjoy it. And if you don’t have time to read the post, here is a video about the photographer it features. I think it will make you smile. It made me smile.
When I looked Feinstein up I was amazed to find that he’s actually best known for his New York and Coney Island street photography. I was totally impressed with his work. But the flower images touch my heart the most.
Pair the Feinstein video with Richard Feinman’s monologue, “Ode to a flower,” for another way to “see” flowers.
That’s all for today dear friends. I want to take a walk outside and do my Soma Yoga practice before my Santa Fe Workshop starts today.
What makes you feel full of joy?
May you walk in beauty.
