I spent a lot of time out on the deck yesterday soaking in the beauty all around me. The weather was perfect—not too hot, not too cold, not too humid, just the right amount of breeze. And I kept a cool glass of water nearby to sip while I gazed around in wonder at

All This

Sometimes I read. I had a sweet new book that I picked up from the library on Monday. It felt so good to hold a real book in my hands instead of reading books on my Kindle.

But mostly I sat and soaked in the perfection of each moment, swinging on the swing. I felt as if I was storing up memories to pull out when the winter gets cold, the trees are bare, and the snow falls deep upon the land.

Enough by David Whyte

Enough. These few words are enough.
If not these words, this breath.
If not this breath, this sitting here.
This opening to the life
we have refused
again and again
until now.
Until now

In the evening the light gets especially soft just before and after sunset. And the greens look darker, deeper, more mysterious. Everything looks soft and beautiful. The light in the sky shines through the clouds magnificently.

When was the last time you sat outside and simply soaked in “All This?”

Now is the time
Now is the time to know
That all that you do is sacred.
Now, why not consider
A lasting truce with yourself and God?
Now is the time to understand
That all your ideas of right and wrong
Were just a child’s training wheels
To be laid aside
When you can finally live
with veracity and love.
Now is the time for the world to know
That every thought and action is sacred.
That this is the time
For you to compute the impossibility
That there is anything
But Grace.
Now is the season to know
That everything you do
Is Sacred
