Today I am sharing my latest photo-watercolor creation along with the images that I used to create it. This image reminds me of one of my favorite poems…
From Joy to JoyO, to take what we love inside,to carry within us an orchard, to eatnot only the skin, but the shade, not only the sugar, but the days, to holdthe fruit in our hands, adore it…There are days we live…from joyto joy to joy, from wing to wing, from blossom to blossom toimpossible blossom, to sweet impossible blossom.~ Li-Young Lee, from “From Blossoms”

Choose Joy
In these continuing days of stay-at-home time for many of us, I encourage everyone to do three things today:
- Create something (anything — a drawing, a poem, a new culinary delight, a craft project, a photograph) without worrying about how it turns out. Enjoy the process instead of focusing on the outcome.
- Connect with someone or do a random act of kindness for someone. It will make you feel better.
- Take some time out to meditate. If you’re new to meditation you might want to find a guided meditation online. Some of my favorite teachers are Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield, Andy Hobson, Pema Chodron, and Sharon Salzberg. I have found recent meditations by Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield so helpful to me when I begin to feel increased anxiety or overwhelm.
These are just a few of the things that help me to choose joy. What brings you joy?
May you walk in beauty.
And a few more blossom photos for your delight. (these photos are from 2013)

I’m new to your blog, and I’m inspired by what I’ve seen. There’s another part that I seek. Do you offer how-to suggestions, like how to do the watercolor transformation?

Hello pbnana4, welcome to my blog. I’m thinking about putting together a tutorial of my process but haven’t yet taken the time to do it. Your question has motivated me to work on that this week.
