December Reflections 2018

Blue is the prompt for day 11 of December Reflections 2018. Here is a watercolor painting I finished this morning with blue (and orange and purple). Though not in holiday colors, this design reminds me of a Christmas tree topper we used to have when I was a child. I have been enjoying my painting time immensely though I struggle to stay in the moment and not get frustrated when things don’t turn out as I want (which is most of the time).

Today I watched several videos that make painting a flower look easy-peasy. Not so (for me at least)! However I am so grateful that I can sit down and watch a short video that shows me how to do something new. Slowly, slowly my skills improve. I have much to learn.

A friend sent me a link to an amazing painter who has so inspired me. Her name is Cindy Lane and she is an Australian watercolor artist. Her videos are mesmerizing. You can find her on Instagram where she often posts short videos.

Here is one of her videos:

May you walk in beauty.
