Since the political news is depressing (I cannot listen to more lies, racist comments, or distortions), reports of fires on the west coast alarming (climate change is happening and we need to learn to deal with it), and the plight of refugees heart-breaking (what can I say, I feel our country helped create this mess but have no idea how to undo the damage that has been done), I decided to share some beauty, light, and love (because there can never be enough beauty, light, and love).
Good News and Beauty
Here are links to stories and photographs that inspired me this week:
Gorgeous photographs of trees against the night skies and fascinating information on how tree growth is linked to celestial rhythms: Diamond Nights.
More beautiful photographs of trees, this time of the world’s oldest trees, by Beth Moon: Portraits of Time.
I discovered a new (to me) photographer’s blog that I’m enjoying a lot: Cole Thompson’s Blog Post “Ten Things I’ve Learned in 50 Years.”
News about the Supermoon ‘Blood Moon’ eclipse coming September 27. This eclipse should be visible here in Minnesota provided the sky is clear. I’m going to start scouting for a place to view the moonrise September 27.
Kathy Beal’s photo art inspires me. I keep trying to figure out how she makes it. Take a look at her Fall Color Inspirations gallery or her Compassion, Auras, and Altars gallery.
May you walk in beauty.
