I love March snowstorms. When the snow falls on bare ground after an early spring warmup, and the temperatures linger at or above the freezing point, their beauty is both stunning and fleeting (or so I hope). This winter we have had a very pleasant warmup in March and melted the little bit of snow we had during the winter early in March when we had a week or more of 50-60 degree temperatures.

The day after the first full day of spring we had a small March snowstorm. We were fortunate to be on the north edge of the snow so the snowfall was maybe 3 inches instead of the 9 inches that fell south of us.
This morning I awoke to a snow-frosted world. I always think the world looks new when covered with fresh snow, especially when before the snowfall everything was shades of gray and brown.
I grabbed my camera and boots and went for a walk in the snow before it all fell off the trees and bushes. With temperatures above freezing this morning, the frosted landscape will not last long.
“Spring is when you feel like whistling even with a shoe full of slush.” — Doug Larson
It was a perfect walk, not too cold, not too warm, and in one photo I managed to capture some of the snow falling off a branch.
Now I am looking forward to the snow melting and spring to continue to slowly green up our world.
May you walk in beauty.
