One of my favorite trees at Big Willow Park

I decided to start my first planned photographic series—images of trees. Yesterday I went to one of my favorite parks, Big Willow Park in Minnetonka, MN, to photograph a couple of trees that I’ve always loved.

It was supposed to be warmer yesterday than it has been for a long time, but the sharp wind made it feel so cold that I didn’t last long on my photography expedition.  With knee-deep snow that my boots kept breaking through, the sharp, cold wind, and lugging my tripod up hill and down, it wasn’t a lot of fun being outdoors.

We are expecting more of a warmup soon and I’m looking forward to getting out again to search for more trees to include in my tree series. Here is the one photo I made yesterday that may make it into the series:
