Quote of the day:
“Live with intention.
Walk to the edge.
Listen Hard.
Practice wellness.
Play with abandon.
Laugh.
Choose with no regret.
Appreciate your friends.
Continue to learn.
Do what you love.
Live as if this is all there is.”
― Mary Anne Radmacher
Many years ago I had a big dream. You know, one of those, “This is not your ordinary random dream,” kind of dreams. When I woke up, I had a distinct memory of myself standing with a Native American elder in front of me saying, “Intention is everything.” That was the whole dream.
And the memory of that dream was so real, so big, so luminous, it filled my consciousness for days afterwards.
I pondered the dream teacher’s words. What does it mean, “Intention is everything?” How do I live with intention? Why is intention everything?
As I have lived into these questions, the idea of living with intention has become a deep, still pool that I dive into to refresh and renew my spirit.
Recently a new insight made me plumb the depths of this simple statement in a whole new way. I’ve begun to focus my attention on the belief that “I am all that”—I am connected to everything and everyone; I am more than this physical body I live in during this lifetime; I am connected to the source and the source is in me.
From this simple statement, “I am all that,” I understand that when the source of my actions is rooted in this belief, my intention becomes aligned with the infinite.
Instead of my actions coming from a sense of “not enough” or “needing to fix something” my actions come from a solid intention of recognizing that I am infinite. I step into my power. I may still have “issues” and problems, but knowing that “I am all that” helps me be present in a totally different way.
It is a subtle change. My actions come from a true place within.
I hold the image of luminous, spheres of raindrops floating on the surface of a sheltered ocean bay. The drops float on the surface for a moment and then instantly, magically dissolve into the deep salt sea from whence they came.
Sometimes I am the luminous raindrop being held up by the deep salt sea. And sometimes I am the deep salt sea holding up the tiny luminous raindrops. And always, we are one.
