Quotes of the day:
“If you try to keep your most sacred ambitions off of your weekly calendar and your most genuine traits off of your resume, then you’re missing out on the power of real integrity.” — Danielle LaPorte
“Each of us is an artist of our days; the greater our integrity and awareness, the more original and creative our time will become.” ― John O’Donohue, To Bless the Space Between Us: A Book of Blessings
“The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself.” ― Carl Sagan
As I manage a recurrance of an intermittent health challenge, I am at the same time working every day with the idea that I am made of “star-stuff” (Carl Sagan). I can focus on illness, limitation, and yet another health challenge, or I can open myself and allow infinite life to flow through me in whatever way it wants.
“We are not these bodies; we’re neither our accomplishments nor our possessions—we are all one with the Source of all being, which is God.” ― Anita Moorjani
This awareness helps me to open to each moment and find ways to express the beauty I see all around.
Recently I heard a fable about an acorn who discovered he was much more than an acorn. He realized that if he allowed his shell to crack and reached down into the earth to grow roots while simultaneously reaching up to the sky to grow a stem and leaves, that he could become the mighty oak tree that he was meant to become. But when he told his fellow acorns that they were more than just acorns, they were oak trees, they laughed and laughed. No one else believed enough to want to take the risk of cracking their shell open to become what they really were.
I think we humans are like that. We see ourselves as small, limited, and disconnected from the whole. This leads to fear, hiding our true selves, and striving to fit in to a largely dysfunctional consuming and addictive culture. We look outside ourselves for silver bullets, shiny baubles, and distraction.
The truth is inside each of us. We are all star-stuff. We are all connected.
What are your sacred ambitions? What can you NOT do? Express your infinite self.
Do one small thing today that helps you reclaim your integrity.
Integrity – the state of being whole and undivided
My one small thing today was to make photo studies of 2 calla lilies. What’s yours?

I keep coming back to this post, Marilyn. I think it’s the star-stuff part. It amazes me that we are all connected somehow.

I’m so glad that it touched you Naomi. I love thinking about being made of star-stuff too.
