Quote of the day:
“Spring passes and one remembers one’s innocence.
Summer passes and one remembers one’s exuberance.
Autumn passes and one remembers one’s reverence.
Winter passes and one remembers one’s perseverance.”
― Yoko Ono
Leaves still on trees, colors all around
I cannot remember a November like this, where the trees hung onto their leaves well into November. While the colors were not so bright this year, they linger longer and lessen the gray days of November.
Golds, oranges, and reds are all around us. And some leaves are still green (though a pale, washed-out kind of green).
Yesterday I took a walk in the neighborhood and was filled with gratitude for the beauty all around me. November has always seemed like such a bleak month to me, with the bare trees, cloudy days, and chilly winds. But not this November. It’s a colorful November!
The first measurable snowfall of the year is forecast to fall tonight in the Twin Cities. The astonishing presence of the leaves and colors will no doubt end soon. But today, I revel in the colors and soak them all in.
Reverence
Yes, that is the perfect word for how I feel about this long, beautiful autumn.
Wishing that you see beauty all around you today and every day. It’s there! All you need to do is look.

These photos help me exhale in relief for some reason. They are so full of life and yet peaceful too.
