Do Be Do Be Do

Evening light makes greens come alive (A large area of wild violets next to our yard)

Yesterday evening I stopped by my  friend’s house to take a few shots of her garden to check out the evening light. I’ll be photographing an event there Friday night and I wanted to have a sense of the lighting challenges I might encounter in her shady garden in the twilight hour.

When I got home I still felt like playing with my camera so I went out to my own back yard and the park area next to our yard. I love the greens in the evening light. The last golden color of sunlight creates a fairy tale feel to even ordinary scenes. And the weather was perfect last night, cool and dry with just a hint of breeze.

Here are some photos from my little evening explore, just for fun. It’s my way of singing “Do Be Do Be Do.”

What gorgeous captures! I feel so peaceful just looking at them. The various shades of green in nature is so incredible. Love the field of violets!

Lovely photos. I so love that time when light is shifting – it’s quite magical. And that shot of the hydrangeas is gorgeous – so ethereal.
