Quote of the day: “Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy.” ― Anne Frank
We have been blessed with a very mild stretch of weather for Minnesota in mid-November, emphasizing the subtle beauty of late fall. Today I went to French Regional Park to walk by the lake. I found amazing color and beauty everywhere I looked, even though I typically think of November as a dreary, gray month.
I see color and beauty more since I’ve taken up photography. It also helped that the sun was out and the day bright.
On my walk today, I was drawn to the water. The reflections of trees and reeds in the water mixing with the subtle shadings of late autumn created some wonderful colors.
The reflections in the water and clarity of everything took my breath away.
There was a small family of Trumpeter swans feeding in the lake. I sat and watched them for a long time. Ducks dabbled, gulls flew, wind blew, sun glistened, waves lapped at my feet. Perfection!
I feel so blessed to have these days, to see the beauty of late fall, to bask in the mid-day sunlight. Look around your world and find the beauty there. Even if it is subtle, it is still there. Life is so much richer when you walk around trailing beauty wherever you go.
