Quote of the day: “Only if there is beauty in us can we recognize beauty elsewhere: beauty knows beauty. In this way beauty can be a mirror that manifests our own beauty. This has little to do with narcissism or self-absorption. To achieve a glimpse of inner beauty strengthens our sense of dignity and grace. The glimpse ennobles us; it helps awaken and refine our reverence for the intimate eternal that dwells in us.” — John O’Donohue
I feel as if I’ve made a leap of understanding in my photography, seeing and experiencing simplicity in my photos. It’s still hard work to distill the image I frame down to its essence, but I’m getting better at it.
Today I am playing with adding texture to simple photos and again, learning that often, less is more.

I like your lovely photos and quotes about beauty! – The reflection of the trees in “November” is very special … continuing against the clouds – beautiful!

Thank you. I am constantly amazed at the beauty all around me, even when the trees are bare.

These three works of art are just exquisite. It is obvious that there is a great deal of beauty in you to observe these images. I’m a huge fan of John O’Donohue and love all that he has to say about beauty. He knew it well. I feel I’ve made a leap too recently, but in a different way.
