Frog Statue Fun (outside United States Courthouse in downtown Minneapolis)

It’s Tuesday so that means Texture Tuesday at Kim Klassen Café. I hadn’t planned to link up today but then I had some time to play with photos I made last night in downtown Minneapolis. I thought it would be fun to mix up my texture play with something other than my usual flower or nature shots.

In the first photo I made a copy of the background layer using soft light blend mode at 100% opacity. Then I added the text using the font “My Underwood” from dafont.com at 93% opacity. I added two layers of Kim Klassen’s texture “kk_forreal” in soft light blend mode and 1 layer of “kk_forreal” in multiply blend mode at 18% opacity. I then added a layer that bumped up the Master saturation to +15.

In the second photo I made a copy of the background layer using soft light blend mode at 100% opacity. Then I added two layers of Kim Klassen’s texture “kk_tattered” using soft light blend mode at 100% opacity. This gave the grungy look around the edges and some grunge throughout the photo. Finally I added two layers of warming filters to warm up the photo (which started out at black and white). You can see the original photos before adding layers in my post, An Evening Walk Downtown
