It’s been an abundant week for me, full of good food, good company, and good photography opportunities. Here is my bliss and joy list for the week.

I’m loving the farmer’s markets all around the Twin Cities. If you look, you can find a market almost any day of the week. I’ve recently been to the New Hope Farmer’s Market (Saturday), Mill City Farmer’s Market (Saturday), Plymouth Farmer’s Market (Wednesday afternoons), Maple Grove Farmer’s Market (Thursday afternoons). This week our meals have included loads of fresh green beans, new potatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes, sweet corn, blueberries, and strawberries, all grown locally! On top of that my little container garden is yielding lots of basil, parsley, and cherry tomatoes. Mmmmmm…

I had lunch with my daughter, Kristi, early this week. We caught up on her experiences attending the World Domination Summit in Portland, Oregon earlier this month. It was so much fun talking about speakers that we were both familiar with and hearing how wonderful she thought Brené Brown‘s talk was at the Summit. It was lovely seeing that we both value Brené’s ideas on vulnerability and authenticity. I am so proud of both of my daughters! What wonderful young women they are!

Several friends joined me at J. Arthur Coffee House in Roseville, MN Saturday night to listen to live music and see my photography exhibit that is displayed there through July 24. The music was fantastic! And it was great fun to share my photography exhibit with friends.

I made portraits of two beautiful women this week. It was such an honor to witness these women’s beauty and soul.

Summer flowers are in full bloom and my heart sings with the opportunities to photograph them. I love, love, love flowers of all kinds!

It rained this week—a much needed rain. I got soaked by the rain while out photographing. I could have hurried to my car when the first raindrops fell, but what fun would that be? Instead I lingered and captured the storm arriving over Lake Minnetonka. Exhilaration! Then the downpour made it to shore! It was like taking a shower with my clothes on. Camera under my shirt, I ran for the car laughing with joy. The camera survived the rain. So did I.

Lovely pictures and I love the relationship that you have with your daughter. I love my mom and time with her is the best!

Wonderful looking produce at the farmers market. I haven’t been to ours yet. I adore your tiger lily photo.

Beautiful. I always wanted to be a photographer. Not a people photographer but a nature photographer. Such beauty. But you really do need an “eye” and I see you have that. Beautiful!!!

Ah! Summer rain! There’s something about watching it come over water…
