Quote of the day: “What day is it?” asked Pooh.
“It’s today,” squeaked Piglet.
“My favorite day,” said Pooh.”

Exterior carving on Minneapolis Grain Exchange Building

After supper last night I decided to head downtown with my camera to make photos. There was a Twins game so lots of traffic and people heading to the game. We stopped first to the Minneapolis Grain Exchange Building. Jon had been downtown a couple of weeks ago and had occasion to visit the building and told me later how beautiful it was.

He was right. It is a beautiful building. While I didn’t get to see the exchange floor, I wandered around the lower floor admiring the brass and marble and carvings. The attention to detail in creating this building was amazing! It is truly a work of art.

We wandered next to the exterior space by the United States Courthouse. I didn’t know there was a United States Courthouse in Minneapolis! That shows how little time I spend in downtown Minneapolis. The plaza in front of the courthouse was a place of whimsical delight, not exactly what I expected outside a courthouse.
