Quote of the day: “I believe that if life gives you lemons, you should make lemonade… And try to find somebody whose life has given them vodka, and have a party.” —Ron White

When life gives you lemons

My little bliss list this week is an ode to lemonade.  Although the week didn’t go as I planned, it was perfect none-the-less. An unexpected summer cold completely turned my week upside-down. Instead of many planned activities I spent most of the week feeling like I’ve been run over by a truck and as a result I took an unexpected vacation resting and recuperating at home. Here’s my bliss list:

  • I celebrated a rainy morning Wednesday by going to Lyndale Peace Park and making photos in the wonderful light (before the summer cold arrived in full). I am thankful for green parks and the miracles of nature.

  • Gratitude for simple pleasures

My favorite chair, a lap quilt, a good book, and the TV remote – good friends while sitting through a summer cold

  • Gratitude for unexpected blessings like a summer cold that brought a summer hiatus

  • My backyard sanctuary gives me views that fill me with joy and gratitude

  • Gratitude for feeling well enough to spend time out on the deck today and play with my camera while enjoying sunshine and fresh air

Feeling well enough to spend time in the swing on the deck with my books and a cup of tea – ahhhh… summertime
