Quote of the day:
“The Heart is the Capital of the Mind—
The Mind is a single State—
The Heart and the Mind together make
A single Continent—
One—is the Population—
Numerous enough—
This ecstatic Nation
Seek—it is Yourself.”
― Emily Dickinson
One of the ordinary miracles that have grown up “overnight” with the plentiful rain during the past weeks
Last week I wrote of a week spent living with a fierce summer cold. This week I continue to live with the remnants of the cold, still limiting activities and spending more time at home than usual. My bliss list this week is once again centered on the wonders of nature in my yard and amongst family.
Here is my list (in photos):
I was photographing an interesting leaf and didn’t even notice the lovely red and turquoise insect until I downloaded the photo. What a nice surprise!
Nature’s surprising abstract art delights me (wild cherry tree fruits)
My favorite tree, a wise old willow in my back yard, decorates the sky and shades my yard. Many thanks wise old willow.
Basswood trees in the back yard are in bloom – oh what a heavenly scent is wafting in my windows this week. Much gratitude for hidden beauty.
Glorious green! Recent rains have left us with verdant greens everywhere I look. I am thankful for being spared from flooding, wind damage, and hail that has devastated parts of Minnesota
Proud new homeowner! My youngest daughter closed on her first house this week! She’s moving into her lovely little abode this weekend. I’m delighted for her and grateful for many blessings in our family.
