Quote of the day: “Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.” —Confucius

Beautiful Basswood Tree

While recovering from a wicked summer cold, I found myself feeling better but not well enough to go out in pursuit of beauty. Instead I spent part of a day out on the deck enjoying the gentle summer breezes and sunshine. I had an itch for making photos so I brought my camera out with me. Here is some of the beauty I discovered all around me that day.

A common photography assignment is to pick a spot anywhere and find things to photograph. It is a good practice I think. Since I fell in love with photography I find that I see the world with new eyes and everywhere I go I see beauty. How about you? Do you see beauty everywhere too?

Basswood flowers ready to burst open – the scent of basswoods in bloom is a little like heaven

Acer Maple Seeds – I love the delicate colors on them and the shapes they make
