Quote of the day: ““Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy.” ― Anne Frank

Fading Daffodils with Apple Blossoms

As spring’s panoply of apple blossoms, tulips, and wildflowers begins to wither and fade, I feel a little sad. When I love something a lot, I want to hold onto it and make it last longer. I’m working on loving each unique moment of the different phases of life and appreciating the ebb and flow—appreciating everything— the fading flowers and the little deaths that occur each day as well as the new buds and fresh new flowers.

So today, I’m savoring warm, humid temperatures, fading apple blossoms, the scent of lilacs, laughter with four women friends, the smell of new-mown grass, turtles sunning on a log by our pond, and the prospect of summertime pleasures.

What beauty are you seeing today with new eyes?
