Quote of the day: “To be alive──is Power.” ― Emily Dickinson,  The Complete Poems

Wonderful sculpture displayed at MN Landscape Arboretum in May 2011

This has been an ordinary week full of ordinary miracles—life! the Full Catastrophe!—feelings of joy, laughter, regret, anticipation, savoring, and sadness. Every feeling, every sensation is a miracle. Being alive! Is such a miracle! Each moment an opportunity to experience and learn!

Linking with love to Liv Lane’s Little Bliss List.  My bliss list this week:

Apple Blossom Petals fell like rain all around me.

  • Sunday morning, I went to Lyndale Peace Garden. Apple blossoms were fading, petals falling everywhere…so beautiful, so sad, so miraculous. Beauty is everywhere and beauty is fleeting. Savor it, breathe it in, soak it up. Don’t wait for tomorrow. Everything changes, every today brings something new. Gratitude for it all.

Have a little faith

  • I am feeling great gratitude for my dear friend, Elizabeth, who brings such faith and grace and joy to my life. We are both in the midst of learning to lean into joy and play and create in new ways. May we “Have a Little Faith…” and continue to grow and play together.

Dangerous Earth Cracks

  • I don’t know about you, but every so often I do something dumb and feel regret afterwards—you know, the walking down the sidewalk and seeing a big crack in the earth and stepping in it anyway kind of dumbness. This week I was feeling regret for my dumbness AND I am so glad to have friends and family who help me accept that we all have moments of incredible stupidity. Great gratitude to my husband Jon, who coined a new phrase about stupid with me this week that made us both laugh out loud.

New life emerging

  • And finally, I’ve started a couple of new creative projects this week, so new that they haven’t yet taken shape and I don’t know for sure what their final form will be. But I am so grateful for the way new things do take shape and form and appear in my life. The creative process is a miracle!
